Marvel 30 Cent Price variants were essentially a series of "test price versions" of all the regular Marvel titles, which had formerly been priced at 25 cents. Between April and August of 1976, Marvel tested out the new price of 30 Cents in six markets. The experiment was carried out to gauge whether there would be significant blowback from fans for a 5-cent price hike.
